Women at work

The author explains the many jobs that women made, ther were women  doctors, lawyers, singers, teachers, etc., but there were women that worked, only as teachers or writers, even, there were women that had to satey at home.

But in the 19th and 20 th century, medical profession changed some attitudes, The required educational preparation of medicine increased, so, in 1915, the Amercian Medical Association began to aceept women! The result of that decision, was that in 1980, the 5% of the total doctors, were women.

In 1989 2% of all amerciacn lawyers and judges were women, and in that year, the 7.5% of engineers were women.

A small proportion of women college and universty teachers were in the physical sciences, engineering, agriculture and law.

Women converted in a good help to the Navy and the world, when starts the World War 2, almost 300 000 women served in the Amy and Navy in USA.

In 1989, womn conformed the 45% of employed persons in USA.

But, despite of that, women continue facing discrimination, the can't got married and work at the same time, but women decided to change that; so in 1970 women were staying on their jobs longer before starting families.

By federal law, by the early 1990's, companies required to grant 12-week maternity leaves at full pay.

 

  I think that with this information, we can see how the society has changed and how women have developed theri potencial and capacity.
Nowadays, there are women that work and bring the food and money to home because they could be alone or their husbands o men, can't work or the men work it is not enough to satisfy all the needs, also, there are women that live alone with their family and she is the only one that maintain their family...So, I can cocnlude that women are very good at work and very efficient and competent in all the things they do.
